We all have heard the story of David and Goliath. It is a bible classic. David was a boy of 17 years old who had never had army training or been in a battle, yet he volunteered to face a mighty warrior, Goliath. The king - Saul, was a man of decent stature being an estimated 6'5", he stayed back and did not take the challenge. David did. David was unqualified, unprepared for the type of fight, unprotected by armor, not supported by family, trained in sheep herding and too insignificant that once his own father did not even have him assemble with all the other brothers for an official meeting.
David was doomed, yet we know the end of the story ended differently. Put yourself in David's shoes. Would you have taken the challenge? Would you have volunteered? Would you have run to meet the giant? David shouldn't have, but he did. 1 Samuel 17 tells the story. See for yourself.
